Road trip to Princeton Junction.

It was weirdly empty. I felt no life emanating from the bare linoleum floor or the undecorated wood paneled walls and the broken and outdated pieces of technology was a reminder of my grandfather's job working on information technology hardware, in conjunction with the government.

Today, I came along with my father to supervise his "Tetris" skill while he loaded the minivan and he also got a much better perspective of my situation beyond being just his only daughter, but as a woman with disabilities who became bitter at an age when I was supposed to be sweet. We cracked jokes, tried to imitate Krusty the Clown's Goofball laughter (needless to say, I won that hands down) after I mentioned Dan Castellaneta.

We also dropped into a Korean supermarket in place of the Acme grocery store and picked up short grain rice and dad covered it as a gift (they say never look a gift horse in the mouth and when you make less than $10K annually, sometimes people gifting you groceries is a blessing you shouldn't balk at.)

Reading a letter from the government.

They raised my paycheck for 2018 to be $15 more per month from this past year.

Starting in January, I will be able to pay for any fees involved with my subscriptions to various services.

Hey, I like these announcements of windfalls during the holidays. Gives me reason to be less miserable because I am in an off beat situation.

Then again, if I was to be a recipient of the big payout of a lottery, a manservant would be hired to free up any chauffeur\valet responsibilities my parents currently have. Whether it be a Mancervante, Hovis or Woodhouse, the only difference is I would give them is I would be considerate of them to schedule time off if need be...maybe I will need three.

Nevermind that lottery nonsense, I have financial responsibilities to tend to!

It's finals week. I had a jury and a scales exam today, and did pretty well on both of them! I thought I'd do fine on the jury, but was very worried about the scales exam since my mind doesn't want to cooperate and concentrate enough, but it went really well, much better than I thought it would!

I also got done with my 10-page research paper (it actually came out to more like 12 pages, lol).

I saw there's a chance of having a White Christmas. Of course, they could flip flop on that, but I hope not.

And then the Alabama election, which is just a big sigh of relief.

Lots of reasons to smile today! =)

I agree. Reading it made me realize that stress varies from person to person. You seemed to have handled it well, but reading that was dizzying. I salute to you for your grace under fire.

When I came to the realization I'm actually growing up.

Recently, I am saving money for a shopping trip by having a spending limit.

Then again, I also grew tired of being broke.

Spending time with my huge family. My aunts, uncles, cousins and my father's parents came to spend time with us. Even though aunt Mary, who I thought would be a no-show, came as part of the family function. My aunt Fran and uncle Joe showed up and it was an in-law meeting an in-law's in-law when uncle Joe met my grandfather. I hope he didn't tell about the terrible apple pie incident Joe's father encountered.

A few times it got rowdy, but I was handsomely rewarded with $120 in Amazon gift card money and $115 in cash, which I will save for a later date. So being in an extremely large family is not without it upsides. I got to see aunt Fran during one of her few days off from being nurse at the state prison. Joe also had off from driving around the Eastern Seaboard, delivering snacks.

The family conversations were like stand up routines in the making.

Just finished work for the week. 3 functions for the whole weekend and everyone was happy. None more so than myself, because when I arrived at work on Wednesday and saw the function sheets there, I almost had a panic attack thinking that how am I going to manage that. But the big function today was over the moon at the finger food that we were sending out, saying it was much better than last years function.
Now, it's time for rest.
Have a family Christmas party tomorrow night, but I really don't want to go and my 24th birthday is the day after, so I am going to be super tired when I go back to work on Wednesday.

Best news: I have both Christmas and Boxing Day off, as they both fall on my normal days off (And I also get paid for them, according to Australian Law)

Had time to relax at home.

Finalizing Dec. 29th purchases and I am getting the essential stuff like new charge cords because my jealous cat took it out on one of my USB A to USB micro B charge cords. She chews when she see my mother rubbing my father's back or if my father is rubbing my back or mom's. I also am getting a charging hub for my devices. I better place it away from the Jealous Biter.

I decided to get a money tray to secure my finances. Besides, I have the OCD tendencies of sorting things. I also must confess that most of my bad spending habits are part of my OCD. I am losing the impulse to spend. I think it is a good thing.

But I do have to say, I got some drawing in.

After about 2 weeks without my glasses, I found them. They were in the cat's nest that she makes from comforters that fall off my bed.

Either way, the padding for the bridge of the nose had fallen off and I'm overdue for an eye exam. It has been over 3 years since I sat in the optometrist's chair. I just hope the doctor doesn't mistake me for a child and messes with the lenses during the "1 or 2?"

12/21 12:30 Local Time

One of my packages came early and it was in a big box but it was a tiny Pokémon coin purse from Japan that had the elemental type symbols dotted all over. I was able to fit all 18 Z Crystals plus the Snorlium Z Crystal that came with the Snorlax Action figure. (For a monster not known for fitness, it was very posable) There is still room for more crystals.

I got to see my grandfather as he came to swap the van for the Camry.

I hope my delayed package comes today. Particularly since I would love to further get in on the Yo-kai Watch trend and it's quite popular since its debut a few years back.

I learned that counterfeit graphics cards exist. It fascinates me that companies out in China / wherever can replicate graphics card PCB's in the way they do. Same with when they do counterfeit products and they recreate the fonts on the packaging / the logos perfectly, or very closely.

One red flag to watch for is if you are ordering something and it's going to take weeks to get to you. That means a boat is involved and it sometimes means it's a knock-off place in China. If you don't already know, Wish.com is one of those places. Let the buyer beware

Reminding a woman that acting like a 3-year old in the store will get her nowhere. She didn't like the fact that we got in line before she did. Instead of being a adult like she should be, she opted for whining and complaining about how she was there first. Nope! Actually she was standing in the self-pay line, then changed her mind for whatever reason. After she figured out that she wasn't going to get her way regardless of how much whining was used, she went into another line and kept her mouth shut.

The scenario reminded me of when I used to live in a tourist town. All the self-important morons would pile into places like the grocery store and demand that they go in front of the line because they were visiting. Needless to say, such attitudes were greeted with bigger / uglier attitudes and were usually told to f-off even if it was muttered.

Me and my boyfriend hosted a Christmas party with our family. If was amazing, despite my older sister crying in the bathroom because there were too many strangers, my boyfriends younger sister took her for a walk around the town and to the beach and she calmed down though. It was really nice to see our families get along as one big family. My boyfriends nephew (2 years old and calls me "Auntie Tassie". I love him) was showing my Nanna his Lego, and my little sister was sleeping on my boyfriends Mum. It was really nice how everyone mingled. Everyone thought it was cute when the 2 year old pulled out the vacuum cleaner and starts cleaning up some crisps my 6 year old sister dropped on the carpet.

Also another highlight: when I was pouring my little sister a drink in a glass, I said "sorry I have no baby cups so you have to have a big girl cup, just don't drop it" and she said "it's okay I'm actually not a baby anymore, I'm 6 I go to school". It made me laugh, I always think of her as being 1 and a half.

Now the boyfriend and I are curled up on the sofa, with him asleep on my chest and the dog snoring on his armchair. We're getting a new sofa tomorrow which looks posher but probably isn't anywhere near as comfy. Too bad this one is stained and smells like dog.

@smorbie1 I was actually more or less referring to the fact that I'm interested in the fact that they can actually duplicate stuff such as the internals and have it work as it should (cheaply made or not). I totally hate how the counterfeiters draw away money from the original creators, but I still commend them for (sometimes) putting a crap-ton of effort in making a knockoff of something. It's too bad that the people who build these counterfeit items don't put their talent into building ORIGINAL products.... See, I was looking for a specific graphics card which is no longer in production (It's PCI, not PCI-E or even AGP) and I saw a ton of listings for this particular card on eBay with all of the sellers coming from China. Some of them looked very good, but some of the others looked... eh. I personally don't know if I'd take the risk when it comes to buying one since it could easily fry the computer it would be put in (Dell OptiPlex 170L).

The thing is that. just as you noted, they are very cheaply made. I wouldn't put one in my computer on a bet. And often the pictures you see are not what is delivered.

I just don't like throwing money away on something that you will never enjoy, even if it does work. I've never done it, but I imagine you wouldn't even be able to enjoy whatever you got because you would always feel cheated.

It's Christmas eve, and Tweedle and Mooshu let me sleep till almost 7:30 this morning! Normally, they wake me around 5, so this was a rare treat. I guess they are really trying to be good so Santa will come see them tonight.

My mother has allowed me to open one present tonight on Christmas Eve, something we've done since long ago when I was very young.

Probably will be something practical like undergarments like socks or underwear (I was told a while back that, if you think about it, socks are underwear for feet.). She might ask to open a suggested gift, hence underwear.

I've got a Corvette in Midnight Blue for Christmas! Not driveable because it's a scale model, but an awesome one nonetheless

This day is very important to me as a Christian. It's not the presents or Santa Claus. It's the Baby. He has made my day

Also blessed because He has allowed me to live to see another Christmas.

You're certainly blessed, smorbie1.

Today, I was able to spend time with my parents and try out my new rose colored headphones. They were a cheap brand but they work. My parents have the foolish idea my pair that went missing will show up. My room is filled with portals and worm holes. Good luck finding ANYTHING in my room.

Christmas has made my day. I had a lovely day with my boyfriends family. It's lovely to feel loved. My Dad got me a replica of the guitar I've wanted since I was a little girl, my nephew (my boyfriends sisters tot) gave me socks that say "best auntie ever" which makes me so happy, and my boyfriend got me a love spoon (Welsh tradition) engraved with our initials and anniversary. I'm so happy to see the faces of everyone who I gave gifts to, the boyfriend is very happy with the ps4, my brother is over the moon with his camera (he deserves it, he really got his act together) and I was so happy to see my sister-in-law wearing the bracelet I got her, she said it was such a thoughtful present
