Okay so it's well-documented that I don't like TS4 much, but I've never hesitated to give it the benefit of the doubt. After buying a number of new packs and playing the game throughout 2016, I stopped being interested in it and have only put about 6 hours total into it over the last 2 years. Clearly I'm well behind on the right mods to get, the good CC creators, and that sort of jazz.

One thing you need to know about me is that I'm not really a Simmer at heart, I don't play with kids or pets, I don't like seasons or having to earn money, most Sims other than my own are worthless to me and while I have many complaints about TS4's gameplay, I prefer graphics over gameplay. I've never used StoryProgression or MCCC or whatever you guys use in TS4 nowadays but I've always gotten the latest in lighting mods, config tweaks, shaders, HQ skins and Maxis Match CC. I really want to turn my TS4 into an attractive, engaging game before diving into it head-first so that it doesn't scare me off again. I'll still be using the default skins I used, Luumia's lighting mods, and my Reshade preset from 2016, but I'd like to add something to it. I particularly like that it doesn't have most of TS3's rough edges in terms of graphics and performance, even if the engine is more limited as a result of it.

Finally, if there's any big sales coming up soon I'd like to know about it. Being able to get back into the game with new content in it, is something that's going to make it that much more fun for me.

So I said I've been playing tiny little bits of TS4 over the past 2 years but clearly, not since 2017.


In other news I just got Bundle #5, containing Parenthood and Vintage Glam/Bowling Stuff, for half the normal price. I wasn't sure if I was willing to spend money on this game so soon but I don't want to go back into it without new content to play with.

Given your playstyle, you'll likely not find much use for Parenthood as--per title name--the pack focuses on family play with much of the content being for the child life stage.

I have a household with a child, and the retailer I got my key from doesn't seem to be interested in refunds. I didn't get Parenthood specifically for the content, but more for the general idea of having new content to explore. Out of the available game bundles, this one was the one I was most interested in. It has Bowling Stuff and Vintage Glamour Stuff, both of which interest me to some degree.

But what am I missing in terms of mods and CC?

Well, someone is going to suggest wicked whims, so we may as well get it over with.

You need a sister that plays TS4 too as a constant reminder. I like mine, so you can't have her.

Get the Triplis sorcerer mod. Do black arts. Master it. Dedicate to darkness wealth and start earning §50,000 each sim you murder with the ritual of wealth. Kill 4 sims and you've completed the wealthy aspiration. Kill 10 and you have §500,000, enough to complete the mansion aspiration.

They added a new interaction at festivals where you can "Joke about Pi".

That's the only revolutionary thing I can think of.

Neat, it's an alright sale, but nothing I'm interested in is on sale for cheap. I want to get an extra stuff pack, maybe, but I'm not paying €20 for an EP. That CC page you linked @Jenaya is full of good stuff but I remember already being quite overwhelmed by the available Build/Buy options as-is. Where do I go for good Maxis Match clothes?
