Default Ground level "Aquarium" type swimming pool
Hi
I was wondering if anybody could help me, I've searched and read all the tutorials on this site and others for this but can't find one that would help me with my request.
I want to build a ground level aquarium pool like the one on a house on this page.....

http://www.thesimsresource.com/down...8513/sims2/lots

I've tried messaging the person who made it but got no reply. By the decoration in the pool I assume its a "fake" pool type not made with the pool tool.

I hope someone can help me as I've spent hours trying out the different tutorials I've found.

Thanks

Mm... maybe, it's time to read the linkages provided in tutorials...

TYPE 3 (still with default pool walls, mostly bound to the ground, with "moveobjects on/off" & "boolprop constrainfloorelevation false/true" cheats) (Incompitent8 @ Maxis)

I've read all of those but none of them say how to build it on ground level, they are all for 1st floor execpt the ones that use the swimming pool tool and I want a "fake" pool type.
I've tried adapting them by doing thwem on ground level but it didnt work.
Anyone got any ideas?

For me it is a very well done fake pool.
You can see the botom of a wall on the top of the pool in the bottom left image, and look at the depth of the upper right swimmer.

You know a site allowing re-upload of free build/buy stuff in lots ? Help us to update the list !

How to build a house with an aquarium. These are the basic steps, I did not have time do build anything elaborate, simply used a few pictures to explain the method. I did this in less than 5 minutes and I am sorry if I did not explain properly...

1. Select a lot with a slope away from the road

2. Build your foundation, build from the higher elevation to the lower or else the foundation tool will level the land

3. Cover the foundation walls with a wallpaper that shows the ground level. Level the grounds at that level. (Sorry I forgot to take a pic). Delete the back 'wall' and the middle of your foundation to create the 'room'

4. Build a wall to enclose the foundation to create a room. Add wall inside, floors.
Add a pool against the wall.

5. Use 'boolProp constrainfloorelevation' cheat and elevate the end of the pool to the hight you want - make sure not to to elevate the building itself! Use the level tool and level the pool from the highest level to towards the window. When done remember to turn the cheat off.

6. Add ladder and sim - you now have an aquarium!!!
Note: the picture below show the pool level to be lower than the height of the windows, this is because I did not elevate the pool high enough. You need to experiment to get it to the level you want.

Happy Simming (or is that swimming???)

All,
The one srgmls23 did is type 3 as linked above.
just something to add, you can fill the inclined/slanted gap with foundation blocks for the side views.

eedgan,
that's a clear presentation. Hope you don't mind my linking your post to the linkage.

Niol - No problem. How on earth do you keep all these links organised??? Are you sure you don't have OCD? You are the most organised person I (sorta) know. lol. Only kidding!

Lol, I do suffer from OCD... but I'd devised some methods to diminished my OCD by repeating twice only instead of ten or more times...

Yet anyway, I had problems searching for different tutorials or infos threads, so I decided to link those I know together. It's helpful for those who will seek for them and those who will suggest to some others.
