That I think I can pull the screen and move around like in Sims 4 and it's not going to happen. Every time I switch versions I have to re-learn screen controls and camera moves...

When I was still playing TS4 way back, that was exactly why I always kept it on TS3 camera controls. I had already been used to TS3's after years of playing it, and the option was there, so less headache to deal with.

You have been chosen. They will come soon.

I just started a new save where I did a lot of ITF stuff and for the first time ever I tried that lotto cheating thing where you check the records in the future and then buy a ticket in the present. I thought I'd get maybe something around 50k. Well, I was off by exactly one million with my estimate... I'm one who loves playing poor sims and I don't think I've ever had a tenth of this
Unfortunately I got bored of the save 10 min later and quit because I didn't know what to do anymore other than building the biggest palace ever. But maaaaan, I didn't know you get THAT much money!

With a fleet of perhaps 8 or 10 upper end cars, or perhaps 7 and an over the top hot tub, the property tax payments would be so high that your sims would likely become comfortably poor again pretty quickly.

But where exactly was it written that your active household had to keep that money or spend it only on themselves?

Maybe not everyone does this, but with NRaas SP Money's Unified Billing and some pretty high tax rates, the majority of inactive households in most of my worlds (with some exceptions) have to struggle pretty hard to make ends meet and establish savings unless they come from Old Money. I would think that half the fun of suddenly having millions would be spending it on one's friends, neighbors, and relatives. Or, perhaps, losing it all back again at the casino tables.

Oooooh, I do have SP but not the money add-on, I just read up on it and that sounds super interesting! Aw heck, I swear everytime I get a reply from you I end up installing yet another nraas mod! It's like Skyrim all over again, first I only want the "essential" mods, then suddenly everything looks essential to me

Noted and will take under advisement, but this doesn't sound like a very serious "complaint" to me.

I never really noticed all of the funny text changes in the pie menu for traits! I'm playing an Evil sim, and she has interactions like Evil Shower, Evil Slumber, and Wash Hands with Evil Soap!

Yeah, it's too bad that all it affects is the pie menu.
My first sim was a daredevil, so I thought that the part when taking a bath where the sim goes underwater was trait related... ("Extreme bath")
I was disappointed when I discovered that no, all sims wash their hair in the tub like that.

I assume that would be why they hold their breath and dive underwater when taking a bath. Especially now that they have the ability to do laundry. Hair gets dirty, too, and there is no other reason for a normal sim (or person) to go underwater in the bathtub.

But you say they all do it, regardless of having the Daredevil trait or not. Washing your hair doesn't sound very extreme to me.

There are a few interactions where certain traits influence the behaviour and/or animations, though. They are rare and most of them cannot be directed by the player, but they do exist, and for Daredevils in particular.

No argument here. I thought it looked extreme when he went underwater. (I did mention this was my first sim, didn't I?) Then my second sim also did it, and she was not a daredevil. So "Extreme bath" is just a normal bath with a name change in the pie menu.

And yes, I know about daredevils being happy to be running around when their butt is on fire, and other trait-related goodies. (I've never actually tried to see if a daredevil will set the chair on fire if they sit in it while their butt is on fire. I will be very disappointed in EA if they don't, but I don't trust EA not to be disappointing. They are much too good at it.) But it seems as though evil lattes and extreme baths should also have a slight variance.

Is this related to the fact he has the insane trait, or do mail carriers in general just have bad days? I've never notice this happen before, although there have been days when my sims have found the bills left on the ground. Perhaps service sims just feel taken for granted.

I've not paid Thursday's bills until Saturday and still no repo man... but when the mailman throws the bill on the ground, I think you don't have as long time between the delivery of the bill and the Repo person showing up. Throwing the bill on the ground seems to be at random... 20% chance of the mailman being angry according to the XML tuning file.

Tuesday Seers, who I sometimes have over to fix my leaking plumbing (when I can't be assed) ALWAYS throws a hissy fit after she's finished fixing it. Why? Beats me. I think she might be in the wrong job.

Legend is history as we would like it to be. We pick through the dusts of time for what is worth keeping and, here and there, we occasionally find treasure.

That means the computer's graphics card needs upgrading, which requires a certain level of the Handiness skill. The sim's computer I mean this time, not the player's.

Yeah I don't think said Sim has enough handiness for that. Also... uhm. Which sort of chatting program do they use that needs decent graphics? O.o Some Second Life stuff or?

As players, the second a sim's image appears on our screen, our graphics cards are obsolete or need some kind of update. Why would it be any different for them than it is for us?

Considering that the graphics shown on the computer for chatting seem to be the same as for writing a novel or playing a game, I would guess that instead of typing actual words they are manipulating symbols. Which would, indeed, need better graphics. Imagine an entire conversation of nothing but emojis, badly blurred.

(Now the question of why even a low-end computer doesn't have a graphics card that is capable of adequately handling mundane tasks... Apparently whoever markets computers in the sims world is an advertising genius??)

I miss the computers from TS2 - when Sims used them, it actually looked like they were using a computer. In TS3 it's just one or two video files played badly out of sync with the character animations. The video games aren't even real gameplay, they're just trailers.

I'm a bit upset.
Following skydome's potion mod, I made a mod to give a male sim the "unexpected weight gain" moodlet from a potion. My sim hit himself with a fertile potion first. I wanted to see if I could get twin aliens...
So I fast forward (he's immortal, so I don't care about the passage of time) and while fast forwarding I see he autonomously gave himself a 'sunlight charm'.
Today I Learned: A sunlight charm ends the unexpected weight gain moodlet. I lost my babies.
I'm probably over reacting.

Sims are better than us.

I learned that if you build a fence, place a gate, and then delete the fence segments adjacent to the gate, the fence posts and gate will remain!

Edit: just realized it's because the actual fence segment the gate is on remains. I need sleep...
