The Sims 4 Crash Issues in CAS with New Meshes
I have yet to find a thread about this ANYWHERE online, so I REALLY hope someone can help me here.

I keep coming into problem with CC that ha's made from a new mesh, such as MissFortuneSims's Cross and Anchor Earrings, LumiaLover's Baggy Beanie, the Sweater Pack # new mesh from JSBoutique, and even the new ts3 to TS4 hair mesh, Scarlet from Sintiklia. It's the same problem every time. I go into CAS after installing to test the item out, and within a second of putting on the item, My game CTD's. Every single time. I even tried removing all my other CC and just running it with one of those at a time, and I get the same response

I know I'm not the only person with this issue. I've seen tons of people on tumblr and TSR having the same issues, but no one has a solution. I know it/s not my game settings. I usually run them on Ultra, but i tried lowering them down to the lowest one and i still get the same results, again. Also, I have the Deluxe edition of the game, and it's a digital download.

My computer has well over the requirements for The Sims 4, so it's not that either. Like I said, it/s ONLY items that are new meshes, and not just retextures. .

I just want to fix the issue so I won't continue having this problem in the future. It's so frustrating. Is there ANYTHING I can do? Anything at all? I understand that not everyone is having these issues, but as I said,a lot of people are.

So can anyone help me?

I posted this in another thread and I think it's warranted here for problems with CC hair. http://linna.modthesims.info/download.php?t=536587

...That's because this one is just a simple CAS gender override, with no meshes included. All it does is tell the game to use the already in-game female Afro mesh for men too. Unfortunately, custom hair-meshing in TS4 is currently buggy and there is a major crashing problem with putting new or converted hair meshes in the game. Hopefully all will be figured out eventually!...

As many of you are aware, there is currently a problem with converting or adding hair meshes in TS4, with some hairs crashing players' games, especially those who are running Windows 8.1. In view of that, this upload is just a CAS override package. It does NOT contain any meshes. All it does is to tell the game to enable the in-game big female Afro hair for men as well as women. I've tested this hair in extended gameplay in both Vista and Windows 8.1 with no crashes, so hopefully it'll work fine for you whatever Windows version you have.

I tried her version without a crash issue for a couple of hours earlier this morning and then my new graphics card came in this afternoon. I changed from an ATI HD7750 to a GTX750. Played with the hair on 4 different male sims and no crash issue after playing 4 hours. I don't have any answers but found the information above interesting. I am running windows 8.1 and wondered if this was an issue? *shrugs*

Thank you so much for that.. I definitely find that to be interesting.. I'm using windows 8.. I haven't updated to 8.1 for several reasons, but you don't think that has anything to do with it, do you?

Why do you think it's happening to some people, but not all?

Also, yeah I haven't had any problems with the gender override hairs I have, or even any of the ones that were made from EA hairs' meshes.. The only time I have having problems are the item with brand new meshes...

God I sincerely hope a fix to this problem is found soon
I absolutely adore MF Sims hairs and that beanie... but I would also like to be able to play the game past CAS without crashing

Hi there,
I have terrible problems with crashes and I suppose It's time: I have to check out my CCs since I have a lot.
Is there any other 'problematic' CCs?
Thanks.

I have no idea. I am not able to understand all the stuff that goes into making CC and haven't seen much around that I can understand.

I just looked at the new stuff and want to cry. I don't want to go through trying to find bad CC and redressing everyone because of removing CC, so I tend to stay away from it. I just looked at Lumialover's newest upload of the beanie hats. I want it badly but I will have to wait until something floats down telling us that the crash issues have been fixed. *Sad Panda*

I don't have problems with crashing but the CC is always glitched in my game ( I have only the Demo because I'm getting the game by christmas..)
Do you think it's because I only have the demo?

This morning the downloaded Yoda mask caused my computer to crash in CAS. The screen just blacked out, and I could do nothing, not even bring up Windows. All I could do was reboot my computer. This was the first crash in CAS for me. I have just deleted that mod.

I'm sorry that it happens to you, I remember that I have the sweater pack from jsboutique, I tried it on my sims and one of them is wearing it but lucky my game doesn't crash. My settings is High, system is Windows 7.

I don't think recolors in general cause problems, but new or reworked hair meshes may be problematic, which is sad because I love new hair meshes....

Same! Not with these meshes, but I downloaded some sequin dresses for little girls yesterday and after I put them in my game, it crashed EVERY single time I went to the CAS screen to try to dress a girl in one of them. And, weirdly, I wasn't even able to open one of my households. Tested it out, happened consistently when the dress was in the mods folder, but both times I took it out, the game worked fine. Total bummer, they were cute dresses. Made me nervous about using any CC.

I don't know if this would fix ALL the crash problems, but

http://mysims4blog.blogspot.com/201...or-females.html

has a solution to HIS hairs that caused problems. Maybe this would work for some others.

CmarNYC made a tool to fix the problem with meshes crashing: http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=540034 I used it on my hairs to make them available to whoever had issues with them. I never had issues with custom meshes crashing my game but most people who had have reported that it works

Hi,

I guess that your game files are prevented by a security feature in Windows, known as Data Execution Prevention. Add the files to DEP Excluded Files list. This will be helpful.

1. Right click Computer icon.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click "Advanced system settings".
4. Click Advanced tab.
5. Under Performance click the Settings button.
6. Click Data Execution Prevention tab.
7. Choose "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select".
8. Add all the files from the following directory:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Game\Bin
9. Click OK.

More details here:

I think the latest patch also address this issue.

"We fixed a crash reported on the modding forums where custom content clones of hats and hairs could cause a crash on Intel graphics cards due to an issue with the skinning code.'

I know what you mean and have had the same type of issues. Most times, removing the exact mods one at a time (be sure you keep up with each with a date and try to add them just a couple at a time and try your game for starting beforing hailing the cc) usually, that will fix it. but other times, I have had to uninstall and reinstall the whole deluxe game. Have you tried erstarting the computer also? Sometimes it can be the browser used at the time that needs to be updated or has a glitch when downloading. Wish you the best and hope you get it straightened out soon!
