If a file is highlighted in red does it meen the file won;t work,,, do i have to delete it?

sorry if i sound dumb aha...i read the FAQ but just wondered

http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/index.php?page=8: Red lines, which mark identified hacks.

This means the red file is a hack, not something that won't work. The Clean Installer doesn't show you which items work and which don't.
