This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Will I be able to play the Ultimate Collection on a 1.8GHz MacBook via Bootcamp?
I'm currently playing UC via Bootcamp on a 2012 MacBook Pro, but it seems to be nearing the end of its life and I may need to replace it soon. Would I be able to play via Bootcamp on a MacBook with a 1.8GHz processor?

I've tried googling and some people are saying you need at least 2.4GHz, but others are saying they can play TS4 just fine with a 1.8GHz MacBook. My current MacBook is 2.5GHz and plays TS2 just fine, but I'm seeing conflicting information about whether it will still work with the 1.8GHz processor. There's also the fact that you can't install anything older than Windows 10, and again some people have had trouble playing on Windows 10, others have found a workaround.

You maybe able to play but you will have lag and very low FPS, the game with all EP's and SP's require 2.4Ghz as the recommended spec's.
Sims 2 needs a very good video system to run and not burn up laptops.

It’s difficult to say what CPU clock speed you’d really need on an i-series processor, since Sims 2 finished development before they were released, and the clock speeds quoted in the recommended specs are for the old Core 2 Duos. Clock speeds for the two types of processors don’t really match up. If it’s any help, the Mac version of the game which was updated in 2014 for Intel i-series processors states the minimum requirement as 2.2 GHz.

But there are other factors to consider, over and above the CPU speed.. Which Macbook are you looking at? Is it a Pro with a discrete graphics card, or just the Intel integrated graphics (and if so, what generation)? Does it have a retina display, which would mean more pixels to push and more GPU heat?

I have played the game on a MacBook Air with a 1.7 GHz i7 CPU and HD 5000 graphics, with most settings on high, but that’s the Mac version which is a little better optimised for machines with integrated graphics, and even then I tend to run it off battery rather than mains power to keep it cooler and not play for more than a couple of hours at a time. I mostly play on an iMac with much better CPU/GPU, so this is my backup game for when I can’t. I wouldn’t recommend that low a spec for something that’s going to be your primary gaming machine.

you did not give us specs; according to this https://support.apple.com/kb/SP649 it has at last i5 CPU 3rd generation (3xxx) which means there's at last Intel HD 4000 embedded GPU. Also of course the matter of RAM installed in this machine is something to consider.

As a baseline the pure hardware (if this machine has at last 6GB installed) is more than enought to run the UC version of the game. The size (I mean: "the clock") does not matter as @muridae wrote above. Said configuration (with 8GB RAM) is enough to run The Sims 3 - however it won't be very impressive visually obviously. And actually the game requirements were composed even before Core * Duo CPU series, so it should be just forgotten.

Now: the specs are enough to run Win10 but we're in the Apple-proprietary area there. I have no idea if there is or is not something with no support from Windows (these competing companies can be really annoying and silly in that matter). And the game is somewhat tricky sometimes working in that enviroment, but it's very erratic - some users have no problems other have plenty. You just need give it a chance.

Or - you may try Linux - the game is working fine (with minor glitches) with Lutris https://lutris.net/games/the-sims-2/ . And there's plenty of desktops or themes for "Mac-like" visuals and feels if you need that.

NOTE:

have you ever did maintenance on this machine (CPU paste reneval, fan cleaning, overall examination)? If not - do it. Or rather look for one of the mac specialists who (unlikely the company) actually repairs and maintains the products instead calling: "buy better, new one". Dissasembling Macs is not trivial task.
