Default The Meaning Of Sanity ~ Chapter's Fourteen,Fifteen and The End!
Ok guys, here it is. I know its totally later the I meant it to be and the pictures aren't that great (except the first one!) but I'm working on improving the pics for further chapters. Also, a big thank you to Dorka for photoshopping the first picture for me, Thank You!

Chapter One

The dream is always the same. I'm running, running so fast that the streets and people around me are blurred. Running until my lungs burn and my breath comes in short, hard gasps. I turn a corner and-

*BeepBeepBeep*

*Thunk*

I wake up. I never remember the dream but somehow I always know its the same one. Sometimes, i wisp of remembrance will creep forward before darting back into the deepest corners of my mind. Even though I can't remember it, it always makes me feel so alone, like somethings missing.

"Atleast I have you" I tell Kirby. Kirby's my Husky, I got her from the shelter when I was sixteen and she's my best friend. I tell her everything, even if she never answers.

I glance at the clock. Crap, I have half an hour until class! Kirby watches with a bemused doggy smile on her face as I hurriedly race from room to room, grabbing clothes and makeup before leaping into the bathroom and slamming the door. Ten minutes later, I'm showered, dressed and have managed to cram half a slice of last nights pizza into my mouth before hurdling out the door.

I skid around the corner and plow into Griffin, almost knocking him off his feet.
'Jeez Kyla, don't you need a licence to go that speed!" He asks, jokingly.
"Sorry, I over slept again. It was that weird dream..." I mumble, glancing at the school and praying Mrs. Meyers hasn't locked the doors yet.

Griffin snorts. "You mean the dream you can never remember?"
"It's not funny Griff, I think that dream is important!" I reply, trying to keep the hurt out of my voice.
" Is so important you don't remember it, right?" Griffin scoffs, rolling his eyes.
"I have to go to class..." I mumble before darting off.

"God, don't you even own a clock!" Cali trills, the minute I'm in the door.
"Mr Wyndot is sooo gonna report you to the dean for this! Adds her friend Fifi. " what is this, like the fifth time!"
Cali Morrison and Fiona "Fifi" Laurence are the kind of people that make your life hell in highschool then somehow, you manage to find people just like them at college to make sure you stay miserable. Cali's dad is the son inlaw of Malcolm landgraab, the biggest realestate tycoon in the state and Fifi's parents are both big time lawyers.

" Sorry, us poor people can't tell time." I say, oozing sarcasm.
Cali rolls her eyes. "Jeez Kyla, your such a-"
"Hi Mr. Wyndot!" Blurts Fifi. She gets a mock serious look on her face. "Did you know Kyla was late again."
"No, but I was late also so I don't really think it matters." he replies, smiling.
Kudos to the best teacher ever. Mr. Wyndot is one of the few teacher that doesn't think of Cali and Fifi as "The rich girls they should be really nice to" but as any other student.
"Girls, why don't you find a seat so we can begin" Mr. Wyndot says.

Cali sends a lazer glare my way. "What ever you say sir" She says, batting her eyes and sauntering past him in perfect size two designer jeans. "Of course sir" Says Fifi, copying Cali innocent schoolgirl act. On her way past Fifi "Accidentally" brushes her hand against Mr. Wyndot's leg. A flare of jelously flickers through me but I quickly suppress it. Mr. Wyndot is one of the better teachers but no one can resist Cali and Fifi forever.

"Hey, you still mad at me?" Griffin asks later that day at Groove. Groove is a club not far from the college that I go to after class. Its not the best club ever, the floors are scratched and the wallpaper is peeling some, but it has live music sometimes and Cali wouldn't be caught dead there so I like it.
"No, I'v just had a bad day. And your sister was a total *****!" I snap
Griffin Chuckles. " Yeah, that's normal for her."
"It still sucks." I pout. "And you were a jerk!"
"Sorry, I know that dreams important to you, forgive me?" He replies, kissing my neck.
" It's not like I have a choice, right?" I say, rolling my eyes.
" Hahaha, no one is immune to my charm!" Griffin jokes.
I love Griffin, but sometimes I wonder if he'll ever learn to be serious.

That night, the dream comes again. This time, it's different though. This time, after I turn the corner I remember what I see. Blurs of People and buildings, flashes of sound and color. I turn a corner and see, me.

Might want to fix that typo, though. Sorry to point it out, but it's kind of a funny one :haha: Yeah I'm immature, I know.

Default The Meaning Of Sanity - Chapter Two
Chapter Two

"You saw...you?" Griffin asks, sounding skeptical. Its the next morning and I'm trying to tell Griffin about the new developments in my dream mystery.
"Yeah!...at least, I think it was me..." I say " I'm not really sure, it was just a flash."
Kirby comes over and sets her head in my lap, omitting a sad, whine. " Why don't you take Kirby for a walk, get some fresh air." Griffin suggests, gently.
"Um, sure I guess. Let me get dressed..." I say. I drift towards the bedroom, feeling slightly like I'v left my brain somewhere.

" Come one Kirby" I call, after managing to rummage around and find some clothes that are passably clean and not too wrinkled. Kirby jumps around, yapping like a puppy. She's usually pretty somber but she turns into a total goofball if you even mention walks. I open the door and she's off like a shot, me trailing behind her, trying not to loose side of her curly tail. I know what your thinking; I should put Kirby on a leash, right? Well, if you want to try then be my guest. Last time I tried to walk her on a leash I ended up with a dislocated shoulder and when I went to look for the leash later, she's eaten it.

Kirby leads me to the park, her favorite place in the world.Well, besides the kitchen.
Its Friday morning so theres not many people there, most are busy with loads of weekend homework. Kirby charges towards me with a gnarled branch in her mouth, barking at me until I give in and throw it. After awhile she gets sick of the game and saunters of in search of something better to do.I plop down on the grass and stare at the sky, watching the clouds drift by.

I must drift off for a second because my eyes snap open as I hear a shrill scream behind me. Cali is shrieking wildly and trying to swat fat drops of water and muddy paw prints off her designer clothes. " Look what your stupid mongrel did!" She screams, spotting me. " I'll make sure its put down for this!"Without thinking I leap up and in one motion I shove as hard as I can. Cali lands with a loud splash in the fountain, drenched in cold, dirty water. I'm half way acrossed the street before I hear her scream.

I dash madly acrossed streets and around people and cars. An odd feeling of deja vu creeps through me. I turn a corner and crash onto something solid, falling hard to the cement. I squabble around madly, trying to get my bearings so I can take off again before Cali catches up to me. I whip around and suddenly I'm staring into a pair of familiar, bright blue eyes. Darkness creeps in around the edges of my vision, I shake my head to clear the fog but the darkness creeps closer. Distantly, I can hear someone screaming, is that me? The last thing I hear before the blackness wins over is Cali's voice. "Oh my god, there's two of you?"

Hey, nice twist. Is she Tucker's daughter? Cause if she is, then it is a plausible explanation for her to have a secret twin...I think...

Awesome so far, keep it up! :D

The Meaning Of Sanity Chapter Three and Four

Chapter Three

“Hello, dad?” I say, my voice quivering “Do you want to
tell me why I’m looking at, well, at me!”
“Uh, Kyla? Are you high?” he asks. Something in the
background crashes and I can hear my mother yelling
something.
“Dad! No, I’m not high ok!” I reply.
“Then what do you mean your looking at…you?” he asks.
“I, uh, I dunno…I ran into this girl and she’s…me!” I say,
my voice reaching an annoyingly high pitch.
“She’s…you?” Dad replies “Um, Kyla…I know I’m getting
old but, that doesn’t make any sense.”
“Argh, ok. I ran into this girl near the park. I mean
literally “ran into her” and she looks just like me!
What’s going on dad…?” My throat catches and my
eyes start to tear up. Damn it, I hate to cry.

“Oh my god Kyla… “He murmurs. Dad is quiet for a
second; I can hear a muffled sound on the other
end of the phone.
“Dad? Hello, are you still there?”
“You found her…” He says, laughing and crying
at the same time.
“I found who? Wait, you knew about her!” I yelp.
“You found her, you found Kamryn!” he says, quietly.
“Who the hell is Kamryn?” I yell.

Chapter Four

The woman’s eyes are wild and bloodshot; she
grips the rails of the bed tightly and screams in pain.
With one last scream and a push the small infant
slides into the world. Her thin wails blending with the
screams of her mother. Without allowing the mother
so much as a glimpse of her baby, the nurse hurriedly
picks up the child and carries it off to the nursery.
With shaking hands the nurse administers a small dose
of medicine to the squealing child, the baby immediately
falls into a deep sleep. The nurse carefully settles the
infant into a bag hidden behind the door before returning
to the hospital room.

“I’m so sorry Ma’am, she didn’t make it.” The nurse says,
sounding solemn. The woman’s heartbroken sobs echo
down the halls. A tiny screech breaks through the sobs
and the nurse hurriedly scoops the child out of her
bassinette and hands her to her mother. “You still have
this little one to care for; you must be strong for her.
What’s her name?” The women smiles loving at the small
infant. "She is my everything. My sweet, little Kyla.”

The halls are dark, patients sleep peacefully in there
rooms and the steady beat of heart monitors keeps
tune with the hum of an air conditioner. The nurse
walks briskly down the hall. With her she carries an
old shopping bag. A tiny whimper sounds from the
bag, so soft that no one hears it. Pushing open the
doors, the nurse disappears into the night.

That naughty nurse (I mean that in a rouge-ish way, not a kinky one, just to clarify) !

Fancy smuggling another woman's baby out in a paper bag!? Bleh. I'm a twin myself, and I'm really glad that didn't happen to my sister...most of the time.

Awesome story! I think it's cute how they both have 'K' names.

Hmm...krazy jade, you have a point there...I always felt somebody 'stole' half of my sister's brain...kidding! But that would be freaky.

Default Chapters Five and Six!
Chapter Five

I‘m still in shock. After spending three hours on the
phone with my dad, listening to him explain how he
had to look up my medical records when I went to
summer camp when I was ten and that’s how he
found out I had a twin sister that supposedly died
but had no death record. At first I was scared,
what do you say to a sibling you’ve never know?
“Hello, I’m your long lost twin sister that you never
met because you were stolen from the hospital.”
Oh yeah, that’ll go over well! After awhile though,
I was angry. How could he find something like this
out and not tell anyone a.k.a not tell me! Its not
like he’s a naturally secretive person either, the
man can go into a twenty minute conversation
about a weird looking freckle on his butt!
(You laugh, I was late for a third grade play
because he was having that conversation
with my math teacher. I think I got and A+
on that next test out of pity.)

I didn’t sleep very well that night. I didn’t have
that dream again (wonder of wonders, why could
that be!) but I honestly don’t think I slept for a
long enough period of time to dream at all. I kept
going over what I was supposed to do now.
Should I leave her alone and try to go on with
my life? Yeah right, that’s something you can
forget really easy! Around six in the morning I
finally fell asleep, the alarm rang at seven.

“Hey! I heard you pushed Cali into the fountain
yesterday, awesome!” chuckles Griffin, jogging
up next to me as I walk into class.
“I don’t wanna talk about it...” I mumble.
“Ok, sure.” Says Griffin, nodding his head like
one of those stupid bobble head dolls. “What
about that dream, did you have it again last night?”
“I don’t wanna talk about that either” I snap.
“Ok, fine. No need to be rude. Are you ok? You
look like crap!” Griffin says
“Thanks for the input oh fashion guru!” I growl.
Griffin looks like he wants to snap something
back but he never gets a chance because just
as we turn the corner, I smack into the very
person I want to see the least right now, Cali.
I’m already prepping myself for a smart ***
comment to whatever the pampered princess
has to say which was why I’m so surprised
when she does speak. “Kyla! Um, hi…sorry…
didn’t mean to bump into you…uh, bye!”
With that Cali quickly skirts the corner and
disappears into a classroom, leaving me gaping
like a fish. “Did she just apologize to you!” Griffin squeaks.

“Long story…” I mumble. “Oddly enough, I find
myself with plenty of free time, now spill!’ Griffin
says, still sounding shocked.
“Well, after I pushed Cali into the fountain
yesterday I freaked out and ran away, I ran
around this corner and right into-“
“You!” Griffin squeaks.
“Yeah…how did you know?” I ask.
Griffin raises a shaking hand and pointed
acrossed the room at me, uh…her.

Chapter Six

“Class, may I introduce our newest student,
a transfer from Arizona, Kamryn Barnes.”
Mr. Wyndot says. There’s a small spattering
of applause and a few snickers. Ugh, up
until now a piece of me still thought that
maybe dad was getting Alzheimer’s a little
early, but I guess he was right, I do have a
twin. Creepy twin girl (Yes, I know she has
a name but this is still too weird) gives a shy
smile and looks away. “Kamryn, you can take
a seat at A4” Mr.Wyndot says, smiling. A4? She
can’t sit in A4! I sit in A5! This is going to be a
very long class.

Oh well, I shuffle a crossed the room towards
my seat. As I pass near him I can hear Mr.Wyndot
talking to Kamryn. “I know the curriculum is a
little different but she should catch up pretty
quickly and-“. He makes a choking noise as
he catches sight of me mid sentence, looking
franticly from me to Kamryn. “Don’t feel bad,
I didn’t know about her either until recently.”
I tell him.

Just as I thought, it turns out to be an
excruciatingly long class. Not only can I
not concentrate with Kamryn sitting next
to me but I can hear the rest of the class
whispering to one another (Hmm, what
could they be talking about?) and I know
that by lunch everyone in the school will
know about my freaky secret. If you think
the news of Amanda Hutch’s pregnancy went
fast imagine how fast the news that I have
a secret twin will be known.
I spend most of the class watching the clock
intently, willing it to speed up but unfortunately
it appears to have a reverse effect. With just a
few minutes left to wait Kamryn stops writing and
turns to me. “Kyla, I just wanted to say tha-
“BRRRRRIIIINNNNGGGG!!! Without waiting for her
to finish I grab my bag and run for the door. Safely
outside I dash behind a stone wall and plop down
to rest. Its not that I’m out of shape its just that I
normally don’t have to make last minute escapes
from my newly found twin. After a catch my breath
I stand up to leave and immediately smack into
Kamryn (Obviously I need to watch where I’m going
more since I seem to keep bumping into people.)
“ACK!” I scream, as much as I’m use to bumping into
people it still manages to scare the crap out
of me every time.

“Hey…I know this is still weird to you but I
though maybe we could go somewhere and
talk or something. I’d like to get to know you
better since we’re sisters and everything.”
Kamryn mumbles.
“Yeah…um, maybe some other time, I’m kinda
busy and...” I trail off, unable to think of why
exactly I’m busy.
“That’s ok, if you don’t want to talk to me that’s
cool…” She says. She’s trying to sound cheerful
but I can tell she’s disappointed.
“It’s not that I don’t want to talk to you it’s just
that… (Cr@p! Why can’t I ever come up with a
good excuse when I need it!) *sigh* sure, I guess
I have a little time to spare…”

After two hours and more lattes then I can count
I’ve learned enough information about Kamryn
Alexandra Barnes to write a book. I know her
favorite color (Purple), her favorite food
(Chicken Caesar Wraps) and her favorite
movie (Mr. and Mrs. Smith). I know that
she has a dog named Kisses and that she’s
an only child (lucky!). I don’t know much
about her parents though; ever time I bring
them up she changes the subject. I do
know one thing, we're more alike then I thought.
