Hello everyone!
I need to find new neighborhood templates, and there are a lot of them around.
I'm not sure what the differences are between them, so feel free to tell me in your opinion which is the best empty/clean neighborhood template!

Jawusa has made some here: http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=544800. Made by a very reliable creator, they are empty and she has taken a lot of trouble to make sure that they are empty. You need to use them with the empty subhoods (Link is there) and there will be absolutely no sims in your hood.

These have the sims and townies and she also has clean subhoods on the site - it means she cleaned up the hoods and the sims and fixed the problems it had/

Choosing depends on what you want to do. It will easier to give you the correct advice ir we know exactly what you have in mind

So if I use a clean template, and I make a custom neighborhood, would it have townies?

Yes, if would have townie sims already present who have been cleaned up. I'm not sure whether meetmetotheriver included townies though (I have never used those versions of the hoods - edit: ah, checking back, JP says MMTTR's Pleasantview has townies). But the game will copy whatever is in the Pleasantview game folder whenever you make a new neighbourhood. That's why you, without hacks and empty templates, always get the same townies - they are copied from the Pleasantview template in the game folders.

What you want is EMPTY templates.

AFAIAA 'clean' means cleaned up sim files, 'empty' means no-one at all (at least that's what it meant originally). If you want to prevent townies spawning once you are playing though, you will also need the no-regen hacks.

I would go with Jawusa'a empty templates

and renaming the N001 at programfiles and disabling the stealth hoods. (once again the thing is for creating new hoods but is accurate still. Is very old but the best ever to trust made the tute),
