simgeom files contain 3d shapes(meshes) of various stuff from the game(objects/pants/shirts/hair etc etc)
they do not contain complete sims

But you can change a outfit from a 3 channel to 4 channel castable item if you change the format of the mask with it.(or vice versa)

under the materials tab there is a autosmooth box, untick and reimport the mesh(most be one untouched, you might need to export it first with CTU or TSRW depending wat proggu your using))

Even if they stick through the outer part they will be invisible...
