The world is better for having this in it.

I can't even imagine the hours, the figuring, the frustration, the glee of achievement, how many times you must have started that game up again and again to test it... This Thing is obviously a labour of love, and it is AWESOME.

Thank you. I know its not much to look at, but definitely a LOT of work - most of it research.

Very well done! As an object modder, I can easily appreciate the amount of love, sweat, tears, swearing and tearing out hair that went into this. Great job!

But I think it needs to state very, VERY clearly in the description that this item uses an NPC controller, rather than it just being mentioned in passing amongst other details about your creation process. You say you don't want to be responsible for crashing anyone's game, so I assume you don't want to risk corrupting their 'hoods, either.

Yes, of course. Thank you for noticing that so early.

No problem.

Maybe I should add that installing this (or any other object with an NPC controller) isn't dangerous per se; it's removing it once it's been installed that can cause problems, since the game treats the controller as a Sim. Then again, why anyone would ever want to remove something this awesome is beyond me.

I could always use an extra hand around the house, yeah?

Really, Thing was always my favorite character (then Cousin It, and Uncle Fester). He seemed a kinder version of the hand that killed everyone on Dark Shadows and gave me nightmares, but he didn't crawl around and climb walls like the evil one. I always thought it was cool how he showed up in his own special box in every room of the house, but when I saw him skittering around the house in the movie... Oh, I HAD to have it. So much fun to annoy my kitties. I can only point the laser at the floor so many hours a day, don'tcha know.

I have been looking for Thing for ages now and am so happy there now is one - as I am planning the Addams family, right from their origins. Many thanks
