Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (based on TV Show)

This career is based on the popular TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (created with game patch v1.67).
The Career is available in English, Dutch and Polish (thanks to MadzialenaxD), I'm not fluent enough in any other languages to make it available in other languages. If you wish to translate the career into your language, please send me a message.
This career has two branches, the law and the order branch. The career contains career uniforms for all levels.
For this career you need the charisma skill, the logic and athletic skills for the order branch, and the logic and writing skills for the law branch.

Job offer: In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. The dedicated detectives and attorneys who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad, known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.
Branch offer: You can now choose if you want to join the Law or Order side. Do you want to collect evidence and catch the bad guys in the Order Branch or do you want to try and convince a jury to convict a suspect?

Career Levels:
1. Women's Aid Volunteer ~ You are a volunteer in Women's Aid. Your tasks include cooking in shelters, doing administration, help the women and children in shelters with the problems they face, and educate people about sexual violence, domestic violence and child abuse. It's a tough job to do, but with the right mindset and a good heart you'll change the world for the better.

2. Advocate ~ You are an advocate for women's and children's rights. You fight against child abuse, sexual violence, domestic violence, the back-log, inequity and injustice. You stand up on the barricades to demand justice and equality. You are the voice of a group that is most often left voiceless. Now go and make their voices heard!

3. Foundation Board Member ~ You now work for a foundation that fights against domestic violence, child abuse and sexual violence. You organize and hold charity events to raise money for your charity, you educate people on your foundations mission, you make PSAs and raise awareness about taboo issues. Don't let all that power and money get to your head, always remain joyful and humble.

4. Spokesperson ~ You keep yourself occupied with the media and giving statements for your foundation. When the media or anyone else has questions about your foundation and it's cause, they come to you. You're the face of the foundation and all eyes are directed towards you. Can you handle the stress of being in the spotlight or do you succumb to the fame?

5. Counselor ~ You are a trustperson for men, women and children who've witnessed or experienced domestic violence, child abuse, sexual violence and abuse in general. You assist them in the tough procces they're facing. You get them the right help, listen to them, stand by them during evidence collection, help them seek professional help and prepare them for the battle in court.

6. Officer ~ Your first thrilling days as a cop just started. Arresting people, reading people their rights, chasing suspects, writing tickets, directing traffic and responding to emergency calls, it's all in the package. I hope all those donuts don't interfere with your stamina.

7. Detective ~ You just joined maybe the most demanding and hard unit there is in the police field, the Special Victims Unit. This unit specializes in Sexual based offences, hate crimes, domestic violence and child abuse. As a detective tt's your job to investigate thete difficult cases; but if it's not you who does this difficult task, who else will?

8. Sergeant ~ You've been promoted to sergeant, that means you know the rules, the law and that you're a well trained and experienced investigator. Use that experience to help the victims and put away the perps. Give the ADA all the evidence needed to put away the bad guys for good and get the victims justice.

9. Lieutenant ~ You're the Captain's right hand. When the Captain's gone, you are in charge of the squad. You've seen and been through a lot, but those experiences made you a better person. Eventhough you seen a lot of hurt and pain in your fiels of expertise, there's no job you'd rather do and no squad you'd rather do it with.

10. Captain ~ You're the Captain of the squad, the seasoned leader with lots of experience. No task is too hard for you. With an entire team to lead, you have a lot of weight on your shoulders, but in the end it's all worth while. Make sure you train the next generation of SVU detectives well and you can retire from the force with peace of mind.

6. Legal Assistant ~ As a legal assistant it's your job to enhances the attorney's effectiveness by developing case information, evidence, and settlement options; tracking cases; and supporting attorney's trial proceedings. Don't forget to empty the file schredder in time.

7. Trainee Lawyer ~ You just got your first job as a lawyer. Now it's time to gain more experience and wisdom. You're going to be trained to be a tough charismatic, but fair lawyer. As a rookie, you're not well liked and often used to do the dirty work, but that's just the way it is. You often gain your experience doing pro bono cases, just don't be surprised that the person you represent isn't happy with an unexperienced youngster like you.

8. Law Firm Attorney ~ You work for a law firm. You can defend people who request your help, or you can provide legal aid to someone who is suing someone. Your work is versatile, but also full of hidden traps, enemies and walls. Will you only represent the rich, or will you be accessable for everyone? Maybe you'll even do some pro bono cases? It's all possible, just make sure you keep your boss happy and satisfied.

9. ADA ~ As an ADA, it's your job to prosecute people that have been accudes of a crime. It's your job to prove that that person committed that crime and should be convicted. You are there to uphold the law and demand justice. As an ADA you now have more privliges, knowledge and can pull some strings when needed to win a case, get a subpoena, search warrent or inside info.

10. DA ~ You're the boss of the ADA's. You give advice to the ADA's, handle high profile cases and sometimes tell and ADA not to prosecute. Maybe if you work hard enough you'll eventually become a federal judge. With a long road behind you, you've made lots of friend, but also lots of enemies. Beware you don't give your enemies something to use for your downfall.

To all people who downloaded the career file before Sunday June 24th, please re-download the career file if you want a propperly functioning career without errors. I've been working on fixing some problems that the career generated. I've corrected some errors in the coding of the career file, after test running it in the sims I didn't experience the errors anymore, so the career file should now be working properly. You can download the fixed career under the tab 'file'. Please let me know if any errors occur.

Install Instructions

Quick Guide:

1. Click the file listed on the Files tab to download the file to your computer.
2. Extract the zip, rar, or 7z file. Now you will have either a .package or a .sims3pack file.

For Package files:

1. Cut and paste the file into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages folder. If you do not already have this folder, you should read the full guide to Package files first: Sims 3:Installing Package Files^wiki, so you can make sure your game is fully patched and you have the correct Resource.cfg file.
2. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).

For Sims3Pack files:

1. Cut and paste it into your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder. If you do not have this folder yet, it is recommended that you open the game and then close it again so that this folder will be automatically created. Then you can place the .sims3pack into your Downloads folder.
2. Load the game's Launcher, and click on the Downloads tab. Find the item in the list and tick the box beside it. Then press the Install button below the list.
3. Wait for the installer to load, and it will install the content to the game. You will get a message letting you know when it's done.
4. Run the game, and find your content where the creator said it would be (build mode, buy mode, Create-a-Sim, etc.).


Extracting from RAR, ZIP, or 7z: You will need a special program for this. For Windows, we recommend 7-Zip and for Mac OSX, we recommend Keka. Both are free and safe to use.
