mdsb759 mentioned wanting the ability to work out to an mp3 player in the game, in the hacks and cc thread. That sounded interesting to me, and a logical option, so I decided to make it.
This is a social plug in mod, that adds the option for mp3 workout to your sim's personal pie menu. As it is a social mod, it may do a reset on your neighborhood. In practice however, the only ones it seemed to do a reset to, in testing, was in households where an individual already owned an mp3 player. The only real sign I got, personally, was a sim that was on the computer, had the computer blue screen on him, until he started another interaction with it, and it cleared right up. If it does, happen, tho, you will know the reason why.
Since this mod requires mp3 players to work, it naturally requires University. However, since it also does an inventory check, and inventories weren't fully developed until Nightlife, it also requires Nightlife OR above. Any expansion pack (and possibly stuff pack) above University will work.
There are 3 versions of this mod. One works in just a Uni/Nightlife configuration. So you can use it with just those installed, or Uni plus any other expansion. One is for Seasons people, as it has a plantsim check in the motives, and that one requires Uni plus Seasons. and one is for Freetime, so you will need Uni and Freetime for it to work. That one will work in Freetime or above.
I am also including a tutorial to change it to autonomous, in case you want that, as these are NOT autonomous. I personally do not care for the constant playing with them while listening, so made this interaction not be autonomous for that very reason.
For those who worry, while this is a social mod, all fallback and original guids are zeroed out so no risk of super duper hug
This mod will make it where they work out , and they will increase both fitness and body skills while doing it, and fitness enthusiasm if Freetime version is installed. It does not give notification on enthusiasm points however, as I got the code from the workout option on the stereo, and the stereo doesn't either. It is for teen, young adult, adult, and elder only.
As far as conflicts, I don't know of any. The only thing I can think of, is if you put in two versions of this same mod. It is an object mod that checks for mp3 presence before being allowed to show up, so do not know of anything.
If you are using it, and you choose to listen to music next, it will queue it up but not cancel out the workout interaction until you do it yourself, or their needs drop to where they need to stop. If they are listening to music already, you will have to cancel it out, and it go back into inventory for the option to pop up in their menu, as the inventory check requires the mp3 player to be in their inventory before it becomes available.
Thanks to Jo, Gummi, Grin, mdsb, and Ellu for testing Thanks to MSD who helped give me advice
Thanks to mdsb for suggesting it.
