Bernard's Botanical Dining always had the right intentions when it came to environmentally friendly dining, as they say in their mission statement: "We've "rescued" plant life from all over the downtown area to bring you a unique dining experience." But the execution always seemed a little... off. The exterior was clunky, the interior uninspiring, and that darned tree just didn't work, did it?

Well, this remodel of the original Bernard's builds upon the intended sustainable spirit of the original. The restaurant is not sealed off by doors. Instead, it is an open-air building. The windows are actually greenhouse walls, and the ceilings have large overhead fans to circulate cool air during the summer. Reclaimed wood and bamboo are savvy design choices to create the feeling of sitting among the forest. The large willow tree of the original Bernard's has been carefully preserved so that guests that appreciate its strength in age. The back of the lot has a new, small pond and an "Herbal Relaxation" station for guests. PV panels on the back roof increase energy efficiency as well.

Although 75% of your bill may not actually be going to saving more plants, at least now the percentage is higher than it used to be. We think.

Part of my Maxis Remodel series. See my page for other remodels.
No hacks or CC included. Please note, I created this lot on a PC with The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, so you will need all of the EPs and SPs even though it does not use objects from all of them.
