SCREENSHOTS
This is my offering for November 2015's "Vintage" monthly theme. According to the internet, greetings cards featuring popular comic characters became more and more common during the 1960's to 1980's. I had a search for some of the more popular characters/comics and discovered that Snoopy was a big favourite - Hallmark released a Snoopy/Peanuts/Charlie Brown range of cards way back in 1960! I absolutely love Snoopy, so I wanted to feature him on some greetings cards. If you've read any of the comics you may recall that, for a number of Halloweens (starting in 1959!), there was a series of strips about Linus and "The Great Pumpkin" - I always loved those strips, so I decided to make some Halloween greetings cards.
So, here are six "vintage-esque" Snoopy-themed Halloween/Spooky Day greetings cards for use with MogHughson's Postal System. If you download these cards along with MogHughson's Postal System, then your sims will be able to send these cards to their friends, relatives and acquaintances in the neighbourhood. Sims who receive these cards will receive a small positive boost to their friendship level with the sender.
The cards feature various Snoopy images, all of which relate to Halloween. There are two sets of cards, one of which is for Halloween and the other of which is for Spooky Day (which is featured on Phaenoh's calendars, like here). The two sets share the same GUID's, so you can only have one set in your game! There are two differences between the sets. Firstly, cards 1 and 3 feature some Simlish text: in the Halloween set it says Halloween and in the Spooky Day set it says Spooky Day (cards 2, 4, 5 & 6 look the same in both sets). Secondly, the greetings message that pops up when your sim reads the card is different: in the Halloween set it reads "Happy Halloween! Wishing You All The Best On Halloween!" and in the Spooky Day set it reads "Happy Spooky Day! Wishing You All The Best On Spooky Day!".
(Custom content in the main picture: Honeywell's Kitchen Shelves and RetailSims' Pumpkin Witch and Little Spider Candle.

And these are the Spooky Day cards:
All of the package files are numbered according to the above pictures, so you can delete any of the cards that you don't want in your game. Don't forget that you can only have one set of cards in your game! (Or, more accurately, one version of each numbered card - you could have 1, 3 & 4 from the Halloween set and 2, 5 & 6 from the Spooky Day set, for example, but I don't know why anyone would want to! :-D).
Without MogHughson's Postal System these greetings cards are useless! Make sure you head over to her thread and check it out. It includes information on how the postal system works, as well as instructions on how to make your own cards, if you fancy giving that a go! :-)
If you have any comments, suggestions and so on or encounter any problems, please leave a comment. I hope that you all enjoy using these greetings cards in your games! :-)
Additional Credits:
Many thanks to MogHughson for not just creating and sharing her Postal System but for providing templates and detailed instructions to allow people to create their own greetings cards! :-)
Thank you to Honeywell & HChangeri for the shelves and Halloween decorations shown in the main picture.
Thanks (as always) to the makers of SimPE.
And thank you to the Mod The Sims staff for making this such a great place to share custom content!
