After downloading this and installing it to the mods folder it causes the game to crash on startup.

Works for me. Do you have GT?

Okay, I can repro the crashing somewhat: it is only crashing when this mod http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=572338 (Balsa Shelf) is NOT present, which means it must be getting something from that package that it can't live without (I obviously have that as well, so I didn't notice). I don't know yet what it is, but for now people who want to use it can work around the problem by downloading that shelf too.

Thanks for the heads-up! =)

Fixed and reuploaded. Bizarrely enough it wants the ftpt of that shelf, even though that is not used anywhere that I can see. So I've fixed it for now by plunking an unrelated ftpt in there .. let me know if you still see any issues. I tested that it works on its own, and together with all of the other CC I have.

Sorry to say, but the bench makes my game crash. I did have the shelf in the game and I downloaded the bench today after you updated it. Not a big deal, I just removed it, but I figured you might want to know. I have a lot of cc so there might be something conflicting, so I wouldn't worry too much about it unless someone else reports the issue too.

Are you sure you removed the old version, and did you have any other CC in use when you tested?

Today I redownloaded and tried it on its own and there was no crash. But in the folder with my mods (including the Balsa Shelf) it crashes the game. With just the Balsa Shelf and this bench, my game crashes.

I don't know if it helps, but when I tried the old version yesterday, it crashed with all mods, with shelf, and by itself.

Game Version: 1.15.55.1020
Also, I have all EPs, GPs, and SPs.

Okay, seems like I need to poke at it some more. I've removed the upload for now but I'll leave the thread here, so that other people who come back because they had issues can see the note in the OP at least.

I'll post again when I have a version that wants to be tested. Appreciate your patience! =)

BTW it might be helpful if the people who have posted already with issues, could add their exact game version to their posts.

I only downloaded after you updated. And no I didn't remove other cc, I probably won't either, sorry. As I said, it's not a big deal for me. However I can confirm that I had the shelf also in game when the game crashed.

Thanks! Sadly that is the same version that I have, so no enlightenment on that front.

Haven't really had time to look into it yet (apart from recloning) but I'm curious myself, so stay tuned =)

I just wanted to say I had this seat and the shelf in my game and I never had CTD when I was playing earlier. I'm glad I saw this since you need feedback. I've pulled them both for the time being. I never tried using them in game if that's what causes a CTD. But just having them in my mods folder never caused a problem. I hope this helps some.

Edit: My game is running the 2/4 patch. So it's up to date.

Okay, here is a test object. This only has the white colour variant for now. I redid the MODL, OBJD, COBJ, and am using a different footprint .. for me it works fine both on its own (without that weird extra ftpt) and with everything else.

Would be nice if the people who had the crashing issue could test, thank you! (Don't forget to remove the old file; this has a different name)

@aparkison: no, the crash was always a crash on load I take it; not when using the object.

Still crashes, which is strange. The only thing referenced in the error log with the mod installed is a reference to an error with ElementTree.py.

Maybe it's from having vs not having a stuff pack or something?

Stuff packs surely don't play a role -- I only have the base game and EP02 (GT), which is where this is from. Add to that that I made a shelf from the same object, on the same day, with the same tools, just an hour or two earlier .. and nobody has posted about any issues with the shelf so far. Truly bizarre

My game still crashed when I added it to my mods folder with all my other mods. However, it did load when it was by itself. I don't have time right now to see what it might be conflicting with, but I can test it out later today or tomorrow if you think that would be helpful.

Yes, it would surely be helpful to see whether it conflicts with something -- particularly if you can tell me the actual resource IDs. Maybe try the scumbumbo conflict detector, I don't know if the other one lists the IDs.

I tried Scumbumbo's conflict detector and there were no conflicts found. Then I decided to do it the old-fashioned way with the 50% method and still nothing. I did find that the bench sometimes crashed on load when in the folder with the shelf and sometimes it didn't. When the bench is by itself, it doesn't seem to crash on load ever, but my game crashed during exit about half of the times.

I'm sorry there's not really any new information here.

I have another test candidate, attached below. This is re-made from a couch now, not from the awning itself -- hasn't crashed for me yet, let me know how it goes?

Yeah the crashing seems to be very intermittent, and the memory dump is not particularly helpful =/

E: LOL; that sim seems to be pretty annoyed with her job as a tester by now XD:

Can't I just please sit on a normal chair?

Thanks for checking!

Maybe the other folks who posted here also want to take a look -- @Zahkriisos @darkdatatrc @aparkison @Apsalar @K9DB @gijoe @MSola

I'll add the rest of the colour options and post this one when I'm done, then. But of course it wouldn't hurt if others can check as well -- the crashes seemed to be a bit random after all. Thanks again!
