I really fell in love with this lot. It won't fit in my present neighborhood, but I will definitely find a place for it. Thanks.

Wonderful! A 2x5 lot and a smallish house. So many beach lots have huge houses. This is more in keeping with New England.

Thank you!

I have a problem with this lot.
I actually loved it at fist sight, sigh!
Basically, I positioned it in my neighborhood and in build mode all is well, the driveway and extension show up in the default maxis grey.
I have the invisible recolour so I tried to change it with the design tool and while the extension works good the driveway can't be selected. I can't even delete it and replace it even with moveobjects on.
In live mode all appears invisible but again I can't move or design the driveway.

I don't know if this is a glitch of the lot itself, I found that fiddling in the lotAdjuster with the command remove furniture the driveway actually goes away but it's kinda bad for the rest of the lot as the decoration just vanishes.
Is there some other method to unstuck the driveway?

Still iCad this lot is quite beautiful so thank you for sharing it !!!

It's gorgeous and very much reminds me of homes around Maine or the Cape. It's very nicely laid out and beautifully and authentically landscaped. I can almost hear the gulls.

Well! That's a bummer. I can say that I put this into several different neighborhoods in my game and did not encounter that problem. One of those was an otherwise CC-free neighborhood, but I didn't attempt to recolor the driveway pieces since there isn't an invisible recolor in that user account's downloads folder anyway. So, there must be something different between our games. One thing that immediately leaps to mind is that I have Mootilda's Rotatable Driveway mod, which makes it so that all the driveways and extension pieces can be placed at 45-degree angle intervals and the resulting driveways are still usable. Since I installed that mod, when I first place a driveway, it is almost always facing 180 degrees away from how I want it to place, so I have to rotate it. I'm thinking that it's possible that, without that mod in place, things might not look/work as expected in another person's game.

If you don't already have that mod, would you be willing to install it and see if that takes care of the problem with this lot? If so, I'll update the post with more info about the issue. If that doesn't work to solve your problem....I really don't know what could be causing it. If other people are having the same problem, then hopefully they'll say so and between us maybe we can figure out what's going on.

@VerDeTerre: Thank you! Cape Cod was what I was going for (Maine is rockier, I believe, and it's hard to make a convincing-looking rocky beach in the game) without building a classic Cape Cod style house, since I wanted it to have a small footprint but with enough bedrooms for a larger family. It's hard to make a small Cape Cod style house in game such that there's enough room on the attic floor to allow for rooms large enough to be bedrooms.

At everyone else: Thanks, I'm glad y'all like the lot.

Uh oh...I actually don't have that mod installed
I will try to install it and see if something changes and edit this post when I found out then.
Thanks for the help, iCad!

Edit 14.18 pm
You were right.
When I moved Mootilda's mod in my downloads folder the driveway suddenly was selectable/modifyable/moveable again!
I tried playtesting this with and without all my CC on two neighborhoods, and the problem did not show up again.

Still more info: without the Mootilda mod installed the problem persist and I discovered that placing a car in the driveway entrance it's possible just manually with moveobjects on.
Strangely when a sim on the lot uses the car and returns, the car glitches weirdly showing up on the driveaway extension instead...

I'm no pro but based on this I think the problem really lies with having or not the Rotatable Driveway Mod.

Thank you again for the help iCad, it was most appreciated!

iCad! The house is lovely and the floor plan is so playable! But it's the beach landscaping that is truly impressive!

Thanks for the testing, Ecca! I'm kind of disappointed that this does/might happen when a downloader doesn't have the mod and installs this lot. But, as a lot builder, it's just too valuable of a mod not to have. It saves a ton of work and trial and error if you want to make a building with a side- or rear-entry garage. But at least now I know to let potential downloaders know about this issue in advance. Thanks again.

There's no way this would ever place in my hood, but I still wanted to drop in and say holy moly that is pretty! The landscaping is fantastic, and the house adorable. I might just find a subhood that will allow this lot just because it's so pretty. Great, great work

I think it looks amazing! Done very well. However i have a problem, it can't seem to place it anywhere :/ I've tried multiple neighborhoods and checked other custom beach lots can be placed in the area before trying to place this, i even tried flattening the terrain beforehand but still not managed to get it to place. Any idea what could be wrong?

Hmmm... Well, I'm not sure. If the terrain is flattened correctly, it should place. The basic process is:

1) Place an empty beach lot.
2) Enter the empty lot so that the game creates the shoreline.
3) Go back to the neighborhood and bulldoze the empty beach lot.
4) Turn on the modifyneighborhoodterrain cheat.
5) In the place where the empty beach lot was before you bulldozed it, click on one of the corners directly at the waterline (But not in the water!), and then drag across the entire area you want to flatten. Make sure the flattening goes at least one neighborhood tile past the road that you will connect this lot to.
6) Press the \ key on your keyboard to flatten the area you selected.
7) Place this lot.

If you do it that way, it should work. As for placing without flattening... There are some neighborhoods that have already-flat beach lot areas. This lot should place on them. But it's certainly not guaranteed. Beach lots are picky. But if you manually flatten using the steps above, the lot should place.

I restarted my game and followed all the steps again and it now works. Not sure what the problem was in the first place but thanks for the help. It's amazing!

For some reason it won't let me place any beach lots near the water but if I take a empty beach lot it works.. Is there any particular reason for that ?

Default ar the grasses seasons compatible?
I followed all your directions carefully to flatten the terrain and created 3 completely flat beach locations. Then I placed an actual beach lot and went in to save it. I am so proud that I could do this because I've never even attempted anything like it. Oh and I have the Ultimate Collection and everything worked just as you predicted. The only thing in directions is that the key (\) is above the enter key on my keyboard not below and beside the shift. It's there on all three computers in our house. Picky but the one under and beside is this one (/). Easy to figure it out anyway. Your directions are so clear and concise, that I didn't even try to print out the pictures. So far I haven't got the lot to show up in the game. I've tried several times but won't quit trying. I checked the lot catalog and it is definitely there. I remember that sometimes it takes a while for a lot to show up so I'll try to be patient though it is hard to wait. Thanks for a a beautiful and unique lot, an excellent tutorial, and the chance to do something new in my game. I put this lot in Belladonna Cove after flattening the lot. I moved the Travellers in. I played for the whole summer, but when fall came the grasses began to flash blue one after the other. Is it possible that one of the CC grasses is not seasons compatible?

Default Only playable in spring and summer
I just came here, because I had the same problem and just wanted to leave some advice for everyone how I solved it.
Thanks to your comment I came to the idea that this issue has to do with seasons, I didn't see a connection there. And it wasn't only some of the grasses: After some time nearly everything on the lot except the rocks was flashing...
I went back to the neighborhood, changed the seasons for that neighborhood so that there's only spring and summer and then went back to the lot. Everything was fine again, now blue flashes!
Of course it's a bit sad that you can't play this lot in autumn or winter, but nothing has to be deleted.

For Miasmata conversion contents, Fractured Moonlight made decoration version of plants: http://fracturedmoonlight.tumblr.co...he-pbk-tumblr-i
(I think you should replace them by hand)

Yeah, not all beach should be some tropical paradise. I understand.
