Wow. I don't normally download lots because they always end up being way over complicated in game. These lots are simple, cute, and fun. All of them will have a place in my neighbourhood. Thank you for sharing your work!
Not actually evil.

Great to have Mews community lots that mix well with your other Mews offerings, for a neighborhood that looks like the city council actually cared about aesthetics and livability.

Default A Weird Glitch in the Restaurant?

I already have several of your residential lots in my game, because - well - they're great. Today I decided to try some of your 1x1-lots even though I don't have any expansion after nightlife. To be exact: Right now I only have Double Deluxe installed. I stumbled across this weird bug, which might or might not be lot-related:

My sim used a family car to go there and the car just appeared on the street and my sim spawned somewhere in front of the restrooms. Several other sims also appeared. So far, all was well.
A host and one waiter spawned, but no cook! Also some sims were able to use the restaurant stove to prepare TV Dinners. When my sim ordered food, it just magically appeared on the table. Also when leaving (by car), she didnt have to pay.

Now there was some stuff in the downloads folder (mostly from maty), but I'll try to reproduce this in a clean game.

Default The Bug persists!
Long time no see!
I've finally gotten around to testing the restaurant in a newly installed Anygame.
First test with Nightlife only: The cook spawned the moment my sims arrived at the lot and everything behaved as it was supposed to.
Since the last post I've installed Seasons. So the second test was in a Nightlife, Celebration Stuff and Seasons Anygame. This time I used the townie tree to generate a cook and a host, to make sure they existed. (Weirdness: The cook was first generated with glasses but I only kept one without glasses. Is that normal Seasons game behaviour?)
So I sent the Sims to the restaurant: Host and waiter spawned correctly when my sims arrived but the cook didn't. Again townies could use the restaurant stove to prepare meals and food that my sims ordered just magically appeared on the table.

In my main playing neighborhood only the Moo's Mews Restaurants have the missing cook issue, other restaurants do not. Sometimes the cook spawns later, but I haven't paid attention to how that happens.

I've checked my game files for mods even though I was quite sure, I didn't put any there. None found.
I'll post screenshots later.

Is the townie tree something which is shipped with the game?

Does this happen with any of the shipped restaurant lots, such as the Downtown lots, when using the townie tree?

I'm not sure that it makes sense to continue posting about this problem in this thread until you have actually narrowed this down to a problem with the lot.

Yes. You get it after entering "boolprop testingcheatsenabled true" and then shift-clicking on a sim, selecting ->Spawn ->"NPC and Townie Maker" (or something similar).

I did some major testing tonight: I deleted the EA Games folder in "Eigene Dokumente" (That's "My Documents"). I moved the empty downtown template in my game files (C:\Programme\...) to my desktop and restored the original Downtown. (I had to dig through the game disk and restart The Sims 2 several times and regenerate the user files. Where do I get my medal? )
Because I'm relatively sure I never touched the Veronaville template, I loaded up that neighbourhood and attached a standard downtown. Afterwards I installed Moo's Mews Restaurant and sent Bianca Monty on a tour of the dining establishments. The cook was missing in Moo's Mews but spawned correctly at Oresha Family Dining, the One-Twenty-Five Café and several others.

No Townie Tree involved! All trianified user data safely 7zipped away somewhere else.
Since my game files are not completely virgin, this is what I've done to them: I replaced Pleasantview, Downtown and the Seasons template with empty templates. I've made the objects.package read-only. I've renamed the intro video and ea logo files.

So yes, I'm sure, that this is an issue with your lot!

Sorry, I was so busy testing, that I actually forgot to test what you asked for. If it's still needed, I'll do it sometime during this week.

OK, I will attempt to recreate your problem on my computer. As I understand it, I will be testing this in a game with Nightlife, Celebration Stuff and Seasons, with no CC at all, and with chefs generated by the game.

Yes.

Sorry if my posts are confusing!

I don't think that this has anything to do with seasons though. I've seen this issue before I installed seasons. I suspect a problem with Celebration Stuff.

More technical stuff (It's probably not relevant, but I thought, I'd mention it anyways): I'm running windows 8 and Double Deluxe (a bundle of the base game, Nightlife and Celebration Stuff).

It's not that your posts are confusing; I'm just trying to verify what I need to do. The closer that I can get to your existing configuration, the more likely that I can reproduce your problem. I don't have access to either Windows 8 or Double Deluxe. However, I'm happy to test with with Seasons and without. I assume that you don't have the Store Edition installed, in spite of having Double Deluxe; I don't have access to the Store Edition either.

I'll let you know whether I can reproduce your problem or not.

I reproduced your problem. Then I searched to see whether anyone had any ideas on how to fix it:

Looks like this sometimes happens with small restaurants: when too many people are crowded into the kitchen and there's no room for the chef to spawn. I was able to fix the kitchen in my game by expanding it a bit.

Hi Mootilda!

I have the same problem as trian. Bearing in mind what you said, I added four tiles to the kitchen area, but added an extra counter and a pedal bin, so I only got two tiles of extra space. Thus:

Unfortunately the cook didn't spawn. So I rearranged the kitchen further: I removed the fridge (as some customers were helping themselves to things out of it) and the extra counter and moved the sink to the same side of the kitchen as the cooker. As yet I haven't removed the pedal bin. The revised layout is thus:

Unfortunately it still didn't work - still no cook! I am minded next to try removing the pedal bin, and if that doesn't work, demolish the front wall of the kitchen, making it open plan. I might also try putting the sink and cooker up against the far wall.

How big did you have to make the kitchen to make the cook appear?

I added one tile at the front, but didn't move any furnishing. As far as I know, you just need to leave one tile free next to the stove. In both of those cases, you've covered the tile beside the stove.

I checked but it looks like I didn't keep any of my test lots, so I'm going from memory.
