As part of an overall effort to consolidate my mess of communication channels and platforms for connecting with my mods and reporting things to me about them, I'm going to be hosting future updates on my website, here:
I have no intention of deleting what is already here on MTS, but I want to redirect you to where you can find the latest information on my mods and download the latest versions of them.
The reason for this is one of time and headspace. As you might imagine, it's difficult to keep track of, and update, everything, when it's spread across Twitter, Youtube, MTS, the official Sims forums, etc. I want to be able to get updates to you more quickly and communicate with you more efficiently to reduce the probability of the experience of feeling ignored, or of an important mod feature going months without a fix.
In the past, I could get away with messy because I was more or less modding full-time, but I can't invest that kind of time anymore. Thanks for your understanding.
Please visit the website and bookmark it if you want to keep track of things.
And thanks for your interest in, and support for, what I do. It is in large part because of your continued interest that I feel it is important to reorganize, so that I can better manage my mods in the future.
Hey, Triplis here. Was doing some playing and thinking and looking for something simple I could do to help one of the existing traits play more uniquely. Landed on this concept: Make it so that Romantic and Alluring sims gain Fun from successfully doing Romantic interactions.
What this Changes
If your Sim has either the Romantic trait, Alluring trait (from choosing Romance aspiration), or both, they will gain some Fun each time they are involved in a successful Romantic interaction with another sim.
If both sims involved in the Romantic interaction have one of the aforementioned traits, they will both gain Fun.
It's About Time
(That's what's in my head.) I've always thought it weird that Romantics, in particular, don't gain Fun from Romantic socialization. In the past when I pondered it, I wasn't sure how to do such a thing with a mod, but I found a "backdoor" way to make it happen.
If I were doing it the "clean" development way, I would change each Romantic interaction file and add in a new loot for "success" that gives sims with a specific trait some Fun.
Instead, I overrode/added to an existing loot file that gets called in every Romance interaction, when it's successful. Which is...
This mod overrides the file:
S4_0C772E27_00000000_0000000000006CCE | Loot_Romantic_Affection_50
Other mods that override this file will conflict.
Hope you enjoy it! Oh and if you spot any edge cases where a Romantic interaction doesn't give Fun for a Romantic/Alluring sim, let me know. I'm pretty sure the file I overrode covers everything, but I didn't verify rigorously with every single romance interaction.
