Prelude

With longing eyes that stretched, slowly reaching, looking off as it waned off into the distance he could scarcely make it out, it was a few feet away, home, but alas he was trapped here, no matter how much he longed to go back home. Will I ever see him again, his heart ached for the son he once had, the family he once had. All Kvornan knew was with the years that passed, how many have they been, he didn’t know, just that many things had changed, they must have. It was peculiar, that on some days, he put on this strange garment and one night he even saw this twinkly sparkly stuff, falling from the sky. Kvornan was amazed by it; it was so beautiful, mini dancing crystals from heaven. Kvornan was entranced with it as it slowly fell from the sky, beautifully, softly, as he observed it throughout the night as the ground slowly began to transform little by little whiter and whiter as this stuff covered the ground transforming the grass and everything else it could cover to a blanket of... What was it? It had to have a name. So did this other stuff he saw, sky tears, he called it in his mind, although he was sure that that wasn’t its real name. Then there was this other time, Kvornan seen something like the dancing crystals that made the ground go white, only they were bigger, and roundish he saw, as they hit the ground with a funny plopping pouring sound. What else here in Veronaville has changed he wondered, was it a little or a lot, he would never know, or would he? Questions he wanted answers for, would he ever see Fricorith again? The only console and solace he had over this disaster and loss of the only family he ever knew, was that at least Jennail was here with him, well some nights anyhow. Even on the rare nights that he haunted and she appeared as well, they disregarded each other, a ghostly hi or a faint glance over, was all he got, and he could no more do the same for her. No longer physically able to touch her to caress her sweet face, yet his heart was still for her, as he hoped hers was likewise for him. What once was love was now no more than a faint passing as all they could do now was haunt their new ‘home’ Gothier Green Lawns.
