Picket Fences! Part 49.1

Over at Mary Lou's house, Julie and Mary Lou were getting ready to go shopping for wedding clothes.

Mary Lou's daughter Julie called her best friend Arlene Martin. She had asked Arlene to be her maid-of-honor.

"Are you ready to go shopping for our dresses?, asked Julie.

"Yes, Mom's already here to stay with David", said Arlene.

"We'll be there in a few minutes", said Julie.

Then she called Transpotation and ordered a taxicab for multiple Sims.

Julie went out and got in the taxicab and waited for her mom.

Mary Lou finally came out of the house not looking much like wanting to go shopping.

They soon arrived at Buford Ford Mall . . .

And headed for the clothing store.

Julie, Arlene and Mary Lou browsed through the racks of formal clothes.

Julie found a bridal gown she liked and took it into the changing booth.

When she came out of the booth she asked "How do y'all like this one?"

"It's too plain", said Arlene.

"It makes you look like you're pregnant", said Mary Lou.

"Yes, you're right Mom", she said, after looking at herself in the floor-length mirror.

Arlene found a dress she liked and took it into the changing booth.

"I like this one", she said, "How about y'all?"

"That color looks nice with your hair", said Mary Lou.

"You look beautiful", said Julie.

Julie tried on another dress.

"Well, how about this one?"

"I don't like that one", Mary Lou said.

"I don't think that style is right for you", said Arlene.

"I like this one", said Julie, "What about y'all?"

"I like that one", said Mary Lou.

"Yes, it's pretty and looks good on you", said Arlene.

Arlene tried on a blue gown next.

"How about this one?", she said.

"That's a nice color", said Mary Lou.

"You look amazing", said Julie.

Then Arlene came out in a green gown.

"They all look good on you", said Mary Lou, "Marriage really agrees with you."

"Yeah, you just have to decide on a color", said Julie.

"Mom, Dad said to be sure you got a dress for yourself". said Julie.

"I probably got one at home I could wear, but I'll try this one on", she said.

She went into the booth and came out in a purple printed dress.

"Well, how do I look?", she asked.

"You look gorgeous Mom", said Julie.

"Yes, you do", agreed Arlene.

After they each decided on the dress they liked, Mary Lou paid the cashier for their purchases.

They stopped to purchase magazines to take home.

MaryLou purchased movie magazine for Carrie and a Highbrow Magazine for Peter.

Arlene also purchased a movie magazine . . .

And Julie purchased a Sci-Fi magazine, since Nathan was interested in that subject.

Mary Lou called Transpotation and ordered a taxicab to tae them home.

When the taxicab arrived Mary Lou and Julie got in . . .

And told Arlene goodbye.

They soon arrived home,

"I'm never going shopping again", said Mary Lou, "I'm exhausted."

Mary Lou and Julie walked in the frontdoor.

Julie went into the kitchen and gave her dad a hug.

"Thank you for my wedding dress Dad", she said.

"You're welcome sweetheart", said Peter.

"I'm so excited. I'm going to call Nathan and tell him I got my dress", said Julie.

"Don't forget, he can't see it before the wedding", said Mary Lou.

"Yes Mom, I know", she said.

Carrie started reading the movie magazine right away.

"Did you get yourself a new dress?", asked Peter.

"Yes I did", said Mary Lou, "And I look gorgeous in it."

At Claudia's house . . .

She picked up the telephone and called a Sim.

"Hello Rhys, can you come over. I need to talk to you about something", she said.

"Sure, I guess it won't hurt. I ain't got nothing else to do", he said.

When he arrived Claudia greeted him with a hug.

"I asked you over so I could appologize for the way I acted when you told me Regan was pregnant", she said.

"Does this mean you're okay with it?", he asked.

"Yes, I don't own you. You're free to do what you want with whoever you want", she said.

Before they could discuss it any further, Noah came home from school and walked into the livingroom.

He and Rhys played Punch U-Punch Me. Claudia was in the kitchen fixing lunchmeat sandwiches.

After they finished eating Noah helped his mother clean up the table.

He gave Claudia a hug and . . .

He gave Rhys a hug.

Then he went to bed and was soon sound asleep.

"Can we have a sleepover tonight?", Rhys asked Claudia.

"Yes, if you're a good boy", she teased.

Later while they were relaxing on Claudia's bed . . .

"Did Noah tell you he was planning on joining the Navy when he became as adult?", she asked.

"No, he ain't said nothing to me", said Rhys.

"I just hate the thought of him being gone for two whole years", she said.

"If that's what he's got his mind set on doing, it ain't nothing you or me can do to change it", said Rhys.

"Yes I know, he's just like someone else I know", she said.

"Do you mean me?", asked Rhys.

"Yes, YOU", said Claudia

"You can't keep him a little boy forever, Claudia", said Rhys.

"Yes, I know", she said.

Then he gave her a romantic kiss.

They madeout.

"Can we do woo hoo now?", he asked.

And Claudia said YES!

"Was I a good boy?", he asked.

"Oh yes", she said.

"So does that mean I can sleep over?", he asked.
"Yes", she said.

Then the telephone started ringing and Claudia went to answer it.

"Hello", she said.

"Is Rhys over there?", a female voice asked.

"I'll get him", said Claudia.

"Hello", he said.

"Rhys, I'm in labor and I'm scared! Can you come over?", asked Regan.

"Sure, I'll be right over", he said.

"That was Regan, she's in labor. I got to go", said Rhys.

"Yes, of course", said Claudia.

Then Rhys left to go to Regan's place.
