View Full Version : Adding a deco slot to a desk

I managed to add a slot to a desk without breaking the game, but I can't find out what's wrong about the placement. With the other two slots full, the third (new) slot will take the object a little below floor level on the right-hand-side tile, while the left-hand tile is highlighted.
Did I attach it to the wrong node? Wrong tile?
Why is it so low - at Z translated by -0,25, should it not be moved upwards?
I'm using HugeLunatic's tut (http://sites.google.com/site/hugelunatic/making-objects-recolorable), but can't figure this out on my own.

The height is low because -.25 is going to be below the 0,0,0 point (ground level and centered in tile). The values you enter are going to be how far from center you want to go, so desktop height is .8 for the z-axis.

The green footprint is on the left because that is your entry point for your slot, you added that node into the slot (129) which is linked to OBJD (Simple Desk - B). But the slot value you have hasn't moved it left/right or your lead footprint so that is why it is centered in the tile to the right. See line number 0x0014:slots id in your OJBD to see which slot file it is linked to.

Wow, thank you, it is much clearer now. I thought if I tie the slot to the Simple Desk B OBJD, then it will move relative to THAT tile. So ALL slot positions should be calculated relative to the lead tile?
