View Full Version : Learning to modify the walkpath for columns

I tried to find the tutorial before asking, and if I missed it, I'm sorry.

Awhile ago I made a column that served as a latticewall [ a column because recolours for those are tidier than one for a fence], and Plasticbox suggested modifying the footprint to allow sims to walk through the not-occupied center. Problem is, I've no idea how to do that. I'm open to suggestions on where to look for answers, but I'll admit most of the actual code for an object is confusing to me.

Have a look at this tuturiol by Numenor and try and use it to add a line to the private bhavs:

Once you've added a line type 0x0002 in the OpCode box, click on the pop up wizard and choose the following:

My ........ flags

Literal ......... allow person intersection

That looks funny now but you'll understand what I mean when you see the pop up. It does mean that sims will happily walk through your object as if it wasn't there but I can't think of any other solutions.

This thread also gives some information about the actual editing of the footprint: Walking Through Objects (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=247435)

But to be honest - I didn't understand it completely, so I didn't test it out myself yet... ;)
