View Full Version : Wonky Phone Handset

I'm working on a phone using Numenor's template, but I can't seem to get the positioning of the handset right.

When the phone is in live mode and using the handset slave package, it looks fine.

But when a sim goes to pick up the phone, it isn't properly aligned.

I tried changing the position of the handset mesh in my 3D program, but that results in the handset resting through the phone, but with the handset perfectly aligned to the sim's hand.

I've tried fiddling with the joint translations. Admittedly I'm not an expert on adjusting CRES values, so I'm not surprised that didn't work :|

I don't know how to proceed :help:

The mesh in the handset package should be aligned the same as the original handset - just lay it alongside it. That's the one it'll use when the sims hold it. The mesh in the base package should be aligned the way you want it to look - when you go into live mode it'll "pop" a little bit and realign itself according to the CRES values you give it, if I recall correctly. If you take a look at the CRES values for the handset in the base package of my antique phone, those should be pretty much identical to what you need for yours. :)

Ah, thanks :)

I got it to work. It turns out I was just editing the wrong part of the CRES.
