I want to make a bakery, so started to make cake. But the cake, a sims2 custom item, is not always usable.
'Exnem's Bakery - 5 Edibles for your Bakery!'

^ here is the pie

It can be purchased and it is edible. I think it is extracted from birthday cake(custom item). I tried to extract food(lobster -_-;; ), but failed. It brings many useless things. (It looks like cooking process...)
How can I extract only food? I want to make edible food for many. How can I set textures(image, animation??;; ) 'clean up'(empty), 'grab a plate'
(like a piece of birthday cake or diminishing food)?

- Sorry! I don't live in english-speak nation.
so I can not speak english well!;;

First of all - foods are a bit complex, so it's better to start from something simpler before messing with them. Also, it's better to try one step at a time - recoloring food, then remeshing food, then advanced modding of food.
Existing foods (except birthday cakes) can be found in SimPE under 'Unknown'. Foods aren't recolorable - if you want to create different color for existing food (like, different box for cereal), you need to clone it (and give new guid; by the way, food guids are referenced in their bhavs so don't miss that step).
Here's (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=55292) old tutorial about food recoloring. It's outdated - screenshots are from old SimPE - but all steps are present.
Here's (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=214711) newer tutorial - it includes info about meshing, and has newer screenshots, but misses some steps.
Finally, after you are accustomed to changing food mesh and textures, you can proceed to more complex food modding (http://www.modthesims2.com/showthread.php?t=222202). You will need to be familiar with BHAV editing for it - so, if you didn't played with them yet, you should follow Echo (http://www.modthesims2.com/member/Echo)'s tutorials about BHAVs.

And, finally :)
If you want to make a food (i.e. cake) edible immediately - you should set prep type and cook type to 0.
If you want it to be buyable from catalog - you should set it some catalog option to appear in, and some price perhaps (all in OBJD).
If you don't want it to appear in fridge - read the menu-related bhavs and remove the line with menu addiion.

I didn't know about bhavs at all. I will refer to the tutorials. It will be very useful to me. Thank you very much! ^^
